A Little Bit About Me
I believe that Everything is God, that All things are faces/manifestations of God. I believe that when You & I speak with each-other, this is God talking to God, it is God with one particular arrangement of memories, thoughts, feelings, strengths & weaknesses, etc., speaking with God with another arrangement of these things. But even though I know I believe this, I also believe that I do not know what God is, and I cannot say what God wants.. God is a Mystery..
I also believe that when we rely on God for help, when we allow God to manage the Universe and our Lives, instead of us trying to be in control of everything in our lives, things work out much better for us. I try to do this as best I can, but I'm only human. I hope to rely on God in every moment.
I enjoy the writings of Ibn Arabi, C.G. Jung, The Book of Wisdom by Ibn Ata'Íllah, Anthropology, Mythology, Folklore, All history & ideas of all people & all cultures throughout time, Nature, Mountains, Forests, Rivers, Deserts, Swamps, Creeks, Meadows, Astronomy, I like old alchemical manuscripts from Europe and the Middle East (the allegorical/spiritual ones more so than the practical/physical ones) and what Jungian Psychology has to say about these manuscripts, Freedom, Imagination, any & all art/music that's honest and original, Tool, Neurosis, Slayer, Gwar, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Lauryn Hill, RZA/GZA/Wu-Tang, Jedi Mind Tricks, old blues from the 1930s, 70s soul like Curtis Mayfield, 60s psychedelic, R&B from the early 90s (whatever happened to that sh*t??), folk music, mountain/string music, middle eastern music, old country music, african music, experimental noise music..
I believe All Creation is a magnificent, incredible Thing, and I like to spend my time exploring it and appreciating it
I believe the teachings of Sufism and Zen Buddhism bring us closer to God than any other teachings throughout history. If you disagree and believe that I am not Muslim because of this, that's okay, you are entitled to your beliefs.
Above all, I believe in Freedom (and Equality) for All Beings Everywhere, no ifs ands or buts...
